Even though I celebrated Halloween all weekend long, I’m staying in on the actual night (It’s a Monday, come on, and I haven’t been trick-or-treating in ten years). So I’m reading scary fiction. (I really wanted to read Stephen King’s Night Shift this week, but no one had it on Paperback Swap or the local library.)
1.) Thirteen 13-word horror stories. All hint at a larger scope outside the carefully chosen words, sticking in your brain and creating a terrifying visual.
2.)The Ear Hustler’s mini-Halloween issue. Three stories that are sure to chill your spine and get you in the spirit, while still maintaining literary value.
3.)“Easy Halloween Costume Ideas”. So not really scary fiction, but it’s nice to be able to chuckle about Halloween and all its ridiculousness.
